Illinois Mine Subsidence Insurance Fund has an opening for an experienced Land Surveyor, located in our Caseyville, IL office.
 
General Assignments:  Responsible for conducting and supervising all facets of a precise level line survey, including the installation of deep-seated settlement points and the procurement of soil samples.  Position will direct rodmen in conducting surveys and in the maintenance of survey equipment.  Duties include the reduction and calculation of field survey data and accurate record keeping, prepare and update mapping needs of the geotechnical investigators.
 
Requirements Include:  Use of survey equipment and familiarity with optical micrometer.  Computer skills are necessary including experience with Excel.  Out-of-town travel with overnight stays possible.
 
This is a full time position with healthcare insurance and retirement benefits included.

Qualifications:
  • At least three years of survey experience
  • A background in modern survey methods, including running of level lines, knowledge of total station and familiarity with GPS
  • An Associate in Science degree or equivalent
  • Must have knowledge of MS Office application, including Word, Excel, Power Point and Access.  Experience with AutoCAD and or AutoCAD Light preferable, but not required.

Hanson Professional Services Inc. is seeking a candidate to fill a Land Surveyor position in the St. Louis, MO, office to assist in the field and office for surveying, mapping, and engineering projects. This is for the Department of Defense Market.

General Assignments:  Responsible for conducting and supervising field surveys including route and property surveys, topographic surveys, horizontal and vertical control surveys, construction surveys, and engineering surveys. Duties may include data reduction and calculations of field surveys, and properties and utility research. Project types may include, but are not limited to, hydrographic, highway, street, airport, railroad, sewer, landfill, site development surveying and mapping.

Qualifications:  Computer skills are necessary. Experience in conducting boundary research; organizing and conducting field surveys including route and property surveys; preparation of right-of-way plats; data reduction; calculations; preparation of topographic maps and site plans from survey information, familiarity with AutoCad and/or Microstation, site/highway design software, and ArcGIS considered a plus.

Requirements Include:
  • 8-plus years of relevant survey project experience
  • A strong background in modern survey methods, including use of total station, digital levels and GPS equipment
  • A Professional Land Surveyor’s license in Missouri and/or Illinois
  • A Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering is preferred
  • Licensure as Engineering Intern or Professional Engineer is a plus, and
  • Out-of-town travel for projects from short to long duration.
