HAPPY HOLIDAYS
As we look forward to 2004 your IPLSA staff would like to wish everyone a
“Happy New Year”. In the coming year we look forward to making IPLSA an
even more effective association for every member. Please let us know what
you would like us to do for you.
IPLSA BOARD OF DIRECTION
APPROVES 2004 BUDGET
The IPLSA Board of Direction passed the 2004 budget at its December 6th
meeting held at the Ramada Inn in Springfield. The 2004 budget includes
several additions. A part time Educational Coordinator staff position was
created to help with the Professional Development Program required for
license renewal in Illinois and the surrounding states. The coordinator
will also help put together continuing educational courses sponsored by
IPLSA and the local chapters. The coordinator will help with the annual
conference and learn the duties of the Executive Director and Executive
Secretary. Another addition was to add a line item to pay the cost of
maintaining the IPLSA Scholarship Program, which in the past several years
the cost and monitory awards were funded by the Foundation. The monitory
award will continue to be funded by the Foundation.
IPLSA NOW ACCEPTING TWO MAJOR
CREDIT CARDS
Due to several requests by members, IPLSA is now accepting Master Card and
VISA for most purchases. Conference registration, seminar registration,
books, and membership dues can be paid by using Master Card or Visa.
Forms can be downloaded from this website to register for the
conference, for
seminars, to order
publications, and pay dues.
NSPS TRIG-STAR MANUAL CREATED
Several IPLSA Chapters have participated in the NSPS Trig-Star Program
over the past several years. It is our goal in 2004 and future years to
get more chapters involved and have them offer more Trig-Star Programs.
We believe this is an effective way to introduce students and teachers of
the importance to math and land surveying. IPLSA has prepared a manual to
help the chapters understand the program by laying out how to sponsor a
program at the local chapter level. The manual has been sent to all IPLSA
Chapter Presidents asking them to assign a chapter member to be the
Trig-Star Chapter Coordinator. IPLSA will make every effort to assist
each chapter in their Trig-Star Program.
2004 IPLSA CONFERENCE
PREPERATION UNDER WAY
The National Trail Chapter has put together a very informative program for
the upcoming 47th Annual Conference and we are very please with
the response so far.
