This section establishes the legal requirement to maintain records and dispose of those records only as provided by law. The state archives may accept such records for preservation by the State of Illinois which the archivist deems has historical or other value warranting preservation by the state. |

These sections establish the “Local Government Professional Service Selections Act.” The Act defines various professional services which may be selected by local governments through the process set forth in the Act. In summary, the selection process includes the following: public notice, selection procedure, including prior relationship, performance, evaluations and qualifications, among others, and contract negotiation process. The local governmental unit may waive the selection requirements where there is an emergency or the costs for professional services is less than $25,000. |
