Railroads - 610 ILCS

​610 ILCS 5/17 Through 5/19
These sections establish the legal authority for railroad corporations to acquire property through the law of eminent domain and acquire material for the construction of railroad facilities. Every corporation organized under chapter 610 shall have authority to survey for its proposed railway to select the most advantageous route, hold land, purchase property, and construct its railway across or along any stream, highway, canal or turnpike. Each corporation shall have the additional power set forth in this section.
